Atlassian’s State of Developer Experience report 2025 explores how teams are adapting, where friction still exists, and what it takes to create a developer experience that supports real productivity, satisfaction, and long-term success.
We worked with Wakefield Research to survey 3,500 developers and managers to learn about their biggest friction points, emerging trends, and feelings around organizational alignment. One of the biggest emerging focus areas is AI tools and how that’s changing the way development teams work. We learned that while more development teams perceive they’re gaining more time from AI, they’re also reporting greater organizational inefficiencies than before.
