In the past year, Jira Service Management has evolved significantly to meet the needs of modern IT teams. We've integrated advanced AI-powered support and operations features, added robust asset management capabilities, and enhanced overall functionality to drive more value for our customers.

  • Streamlined incident management experience: Alert, on-call, and incident management features, previously available through Opsgenie, are now integrated into the UI, allowing Dev and IT Ops teams to efficiently accelerate incident response directly from one central location.
  • End-to-end incident management via Slack: Bridge the gap between incident tickets on JSM and related Slack conversations. Collaborate seamlessly by updating incident statuses, and informing stakeholders directly from Slack. You can also send Slack messages directly to incidents in JSM.

Opsgenie

Since acquiring Opsgenie in 2018, Atlassian has invested deeply in embedding incident response capabilities within our ITSM portfolio. Today, Opsgenie customers can still enjoy standalone alerts and on-call capabilities, or leverage them as part of the expanded Jira Service Management toolset.

Atlassian Guard

Atlassian Guard is the next chapter of Atlassian Guard, our identity and access management product. In the past 12 months, we’ve continued to enrich our Standard edition with more data protection and access management tools, so you can secure the mission-critical work happening across Atlassian’s platform.

  • API Token Controls improvements: Enhance security and auditing logs by expanding administrator controls for API tokens, from a central location in Admin Hub that permits visibility into which users are utilizing which API tokens.
  • Block public links at the product instance level (Confluence): Your admins can block current and future public links at the product instance level for specific sites, protecting sharing on sensitive instances of Confluence.
  • App Access Rule - Select Spaces: Limit third-party Marketplace app access to certain content in selected projects or spaces.

Bitbucket

Since our last price change for Bitbucket Cloud in 2021, we’ve significantly invested in the product experience. New capabilities include:

  • Revamped Code Review UI: Dive deep into code reviews with an updated, more user-friendly tabular design that centers recent activity, including a dedicated diff tab for full-screen code reviews. View comments, approvals, and new commits easily and quickly. Respond to, resolve, and create tasks directly from comments within the activity feed.
  • Custom merge checks: Enforce code compliance by implementing customized criteria that pull requests must pass prior to merging.
  • AI-assisted pull request descriptions: Powered by Atlassian Intelligence, Bitbucket Cloud will automatically draft a pull request description based on the code changes being made.
  • Dynamic Pipelines: Manage CI/CD pipelines at scale by augmenting or replacing static YAML configurations with code-based dynamic logic, executed at runtime.

  • Forge and Compass integrations: Extensibility in your CI/CD pipelines through Forge allows you to generate new applications, and assemble a development component catalog that you can enrich with data across your toolchain in Compass.

Compass

Since GA, thousands of customers have adopted Compass as their internal developer platform to track all of their microservices in a central catalog, improve software health and engineering standards through consistent scorecards, and create a better developer experience.

  • Compass GA (General Availability): Compass moved from beta to GA in Oct '23. Empower engineering organizations to bring all of their teams and technology together to promote a healthy engineering culture, improve risk management and reliability, and increase developer velocity with Compass. Compass helps engineering teams of all sizes improve their developer experience with the following default capabilities:
    • Unified software component catalog
    • Health scorecards
    • Software templates
    • Extensibility
  • Global components in Jira powered by Compass: Jira customers using company-managed projects can upgrade the existing components capability. Manage various work items, like technical debt against the relevant software components, better with Compass components in Jira.
  • Optic Acquisition: Atlassian has acquired Optic, an API documentation and management tool that makes it easy for developers to publish accurate API docs, avoid breaking changes, and improve the design of their APIs. Optic will be integrated into Compass, Atlassian’s developer experience platform. This empowers Atlassian to provide every engineering organization with native API documentation and governance directly in Compass.
