We’re heavy users of Bitbucket Data Center but we can’t move to Cloud. What should we do?
  

We understand that your source code is sensitive, and you may have concerns about moving it to the cloud. In order to provide you with maximum flexibility for this data, we are launching a new hybrid license that will give you access to both Bitbucket Data Center and Bitbucket Cloud, giving you the flexibility to operate in whichever environment your business prefers.

At the conclusion of your existing Bitbucket Data Center license and upon renewal to the Bitbucket Hybrid License, your self-managed source code will remain right where it was on your Bitbucket Data Center subscription.
Which hosting environments will the new Bitbucket Hybrid License include?
  

The Bitbucket Hybrid License gives you access to both Bitbucket Data Center and Bitbucket Cloud. With this dual license, you can maintain your existing Bitbucket Data Center footprint.

When you’re ready to move workloads to Bitbucket cloud, you’ll get access to our latest innovations, including built-in CI/CD (Bitbucket Pipelines) that accelerates development velocity and AI-powered capabilities such as AI-generated PR descriptions, AI-assisted code reviews, automated pipeline diagnostics, AI-generated deployment insights, and more.
Will the new Bitbucket Hybrid License be different than Bitbucket Data Center and Bitbucket Cloud from a product perspective?
  

In the beginning, the new Bitbucket Hybrid License will have no impact on the product experiences of either Bitbucket Data Center or Bitbucket Cloud. However, we plan to build tighter integration and a convergence of some functionality between Bitbucket Data Center and Bitbucket Cloud in this new offering.

For example, self-managed repos (ie, Bitbucket Data Center) will eventually get access to some of our Bitbucket Cloud innovations, such as our new AI capabilities, our cloud-based CI/CD capability known as Pipelines, Teamwork Graph, Search, and more.
When will the new Bitbucket Hybrid License be available?
  

Bitbucket Data Center and Server customers will be able to upgrade to the Bitbucket Hybrid License mid-2026. Enter your information at the top of the page, and we’ll notify you with the exact availability date as we get closer.
How can I migrate my data to the Bitbucket Hybrid License?
  

Existing Bitbucket Data Center customers can continue using their licenses uninterrupted. When ready, customers can migrate their data through these two paths:

What happens if I do not move to the new Bitbucket Hybrid License when the Bitbucket Data Center license is no longer available?
  

Bitbucket Data Center is a subscription product, so after March 28, 2029 at 23:59 PST, the Bitbucket application will switch to read-only mode and users will no longer be able to push code.
Who is eligible for Bitbucket Hybrid License?
  

The Bitbucket Hybrid License is offered to existing Bitbucket Data Center and Bitbucket Server customers only at this time.
