Rovo data usage and privacy

Large language models (LLMs)

Rovo uses OpenAI LLMs (GPT) as well as open-source (Mistral, LLaMA) and third-party hosted LLMs (Claude, Gemini), to provide personalized and contextual insights as well as optimize latency across Rovo Search, Chat and Agents. The LLM providers we use do not use your inputs and outputs to improve their services.

Security and regulatory compliance

Rovo adheres to international standards including SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance. As we do today for all of our products, we will process and transmit data for Atlassian Intelligence and Rovo in accordance with our Privacy Policy, Data Processing Addendum, and GDPR commitment.

Data residency

Rovo supports data residency by allowing customers to pin their data to specific geographical regions, ensuring compliance with local data protection laws. You can currently pin your Rovo data to the same region as your Jira or Confluence data.

Access audit log

Rovo activities are now tracked in the audit log. Admins can see Rovo admin actions and Rovo user actions, including but not limited to the following:

  • Chat started
  • Agent created, updated, or deleted
  • Bookmark created, updated, or deleted
  • Definition created
  • Third-party connector created, updated, or deleted


To access the audit log:

  1. Go to Atlassian Administration.
  2. Select your organization if you have more than one.
  3. Select Security > Audit log.
  4. Filter by Atlassian Rovo.

Note: Rovo admin actions are accessible to Atlassian Guard Standard and Atlassian Guard Premium customers. Rovo user actions are available to Atlassian Guard Premium customers.
